What to do, what to do..

I am soooo bored with my hair these days. I’m going to get a haircut on Friday but in the meantime while I sit in bed with Bella at night waiting for her wild self to fall asleep I’ve been entertaining myself with the People.com instant makeover. Talk about getting distracted by a needless time suck..whew. But I must admit it was a good time.

I’m a horrible decision maker. So what do you think? I think I want a pretty drastic change.

Should I go with pink?

Maddox saw this one and screamed all high pitch “AAAAAH! You can’t make your hair pink!”

What about blonde?

Kidding.

Or a pixie?

I would cry, and cry and cry and cry.

What about bangs?

Half moon?

Blunt?

Ahhh..good times. Enough about my hair though.

Bella wanted me to do some “silly” hair on her too.

Haha! She cracks me up!

To My Baby

Well baby, you’re one. It’s hard to believe. I still see you as this little newborn squishie muffin cake bundle that I brought home 12 months ago. It’s bittersweet.

You’re at such a fun age now being able to walk and climb and laugh and play and beat up on your brother and sister but you’re growing up too fast.

Just keeping the thought in the back of my mind that there might be a slight, teensy chance that you might be my last made me appreciate every day of your babyness in all it’s glory. Yes, I complained that three was by far the hardest yet, but I also had moments that were just me and you and everything seemed to slow down and I could just take it all in and enjoy my blissfulness.

You are so blessed to have an older brother and sister that love you the way they do. They look after you and protect you and try to keep you happy even if it means giving up a toy they were playing with. The three of you are forming bonds that you will never lose and in them, you will have best friends for life.

We all love you so much. Our strong little power lifter, our sloth, our climber, our baby doll and doggie obsessed blue eyed girl. It’ll break my heart to see you get older but I can’t wait to see the little person you become! Love you forever baby!

Love,

Momma

My Baby is Turning 1

My baby is turning 1 this week. It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year. She is at such a fun age right now and she has so much fun with her brother and sister. We sure do love her.

A Treehouse

We’re building a treehouse. And by we, of course I mean Luke. Maddox decided he had to have a treehouse right now. You know, not during the Summer but a month before it starts snowing. He actually said he would build it himself but since we aim to please and Luke happens to be an extreme perfectionist when it comes to building (and I think he thought if he left it up to Maddox and I we would end up with missing limbs or something) he decided he should help us out.

And by help us out I mean do all the work while we uh…supervise?

Or daydream?

Or something.

Bella wasn’t a big fan of building a treehouse. I’m pretty sure it’s her cold that’s really got her down though. She’s more into whining instead of building when she has a cold.

Brooklyn watched from her stroller for about 5 minutes before she decided she needed to squirm her way out and attempt to conquer the hill in our yard that she has been completely obsessed with making her way down with no help at all for about two weeks.

She didn’t quite make it. Maybe next time Baby.

One Last Harvest

It’s starting to look like it is officially Fall and that I’m sadly going to have to say goodbye to a pretty perfect summer. I will miss it. Big time. But I can actually say that I am a little excited for Fall, and for Christmas and well, next Summer.

We got our first hard freeze the other night, so we Luke had to spend a lot of that day picking the last of our garden veggies. We ended up with a ton of green tomatoes. Let me know if you know what I can do with a zillion pounds of green tomatoes (besides relish, we still have some from last year) ok? I’m not so good in the canning department. It might just be my least favorite thing to do.

We also ended up with 2 human baby sized Zucchini.Maddox said they were going to be contest winners. I think Bella was a little bit scared of hers. She didn’t want to hold it at first but she gave in.

My little picky eater. I can cut up ripe tomatoes for her all day long and she won’t touch them unless she’s disgustedly flinging them from her highchair tray onto a freshly swept and mopped floor, but when I have a box of whole green tomatoes sitting around she won’t stay out of them. Seriously, I counted her sneaking and eating 5 that day and those are just the ones I caught her with. Little weirdo. Sweet and cute little weirdo though.

Well…so long Summer. You’ve been fun. I miss you. I love you. Hopefully I’ll see you again before too long.

Indian Summer

Another summer is almost over..oye. But we are fortunate enough to be having a true indian summer. I think this is my first true indian summer since we’ve lived here and I must say it is glorious.  We’ve been busy and I’m actually (dare I say?) looking forward to fall. Not so much the winter but I’m going to try to tough this one out without much complaining. So…a few summer highlights…
